This is by far the best description / explanation of the Ubuntu 10.04 scanner permissions issue I have discovered, thank you!

Please could you include it on the ubutu wikis?

Nowhere else is there a hint of explaining of the chain of udev events, (or for that matter what the ENV{libsane_matched}="yes"
means in the libsane.rules file under /etc/udev/rules.d.

Thanks very much!!

no, when printing from a PC via usb, the CP740 eats one sheet of paper, and then just stalls doing nothing (this is not Linux-related, the same happens in Windows and has been reported by a number of other users). I just put the pictures I want to print on a CF card which the Selphy can read directly...

If you get the firmware from http://wiki.snom.com/Snom2xx/Firmware and flash it with tftp it should work. Don't forget to rename (or symlink) the file to "snom220.bin".

    Hello,

I have the same problem with a Snom 220. I can't get in because a password was set. I tried the above steps (using the appropriate versions) and it doesn't work. Any ideas for the 220's?

Thanks,
That works like a charm.
Get the sunbird source and compile with

./configure --enable-application=mail --enable-calendar
make

After that you will find the lightning.xpi under mozilla/dist/xpi-stage/

    Hi,
You can build it after reading : https://developer.mozilla.org/en/Simple_Sunbird_build

I've build one, It's work on my PC but may not run on yours.

You can read the newsgroup mozilla.dev.apps.calendar for more information.
